    Amol,

Very unique look and a well balanced frame, the vertical crop is perfect. The image is sharp and shows nice detail - the eye is clear, sharp and well lit. If anything, maybe clean up the extra light speck in the eye and reduce the catchlight a tad. I do not usually see this species so close and that is the unique angle I was referring to earlier. Appears to be some noise in the background, did you run a pass to reduce it. Techs are nice and DoF with f/7 looks good - got anymore in storage?

Looks good to me Amol! Nice color and exposure. Just the right amount of sharpening to my eye. I would probably clone away the dark spot just behind the bird's head. Well done!

Thanks Jeff. The extra light spec in the eye is a natural (both are), I had just brightened one (reduced in the repost). Should I still remove it?

I didnt do anything for noise other than some NR in LR3. I am nto great in selecting feathers/fur for selective sharpening.

I have a couple more of this bird from this series This was the best imo. a few from a distance as the bird was extremely busy foraging.

I would love to know more about the angle you mentioned (a link may be?).

Thank you Kerry, I removed the dark spot the way I could. Some more changes mentioned above. Hope this looks acceptable.
    THank you for your inputs.

Where was this taken Amol? Is it a captive bird?

Very sharp and a really nice portrait. There seems to be a greenish colour cast on the image which is in addition to the warm light, which is great.

    Amol,

I was referring to the framing angle, the way you positioned the subject is well balanced. Repost looks alright, make sure you do not make it too tight in the frame - the subject needs room to breath.

Thanks John , Yes This was a captive bird around DallasFW area. I generally dont shoot captives. This was one of the few occasions when I did.

    THanks Jeff,

I cropped tighter to show the details I could get in that nice light. But I will keep your suggestion in mind, thanks for taking the time.
