    Default Old Spanish Monastery

    Attached Images Attached Images

This is the Old Spanish Monastery, it came from Zaragoza, Spain and has found it's new home at North Miami.
For this image I used a HDR made out of 3 images captured with a Nikon D90; ISO 200; f/22; and 2.5 sec. I applied a couple of textures, one of them with Calligraphy from old texts, with several brushes I included cracks and the old seal. I ajusted the curves and color, and finaly I sharpened the image.

Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions.

Very creative and love the colours too. You mean they moved the building from Spain to Miami?

Indeed, it was built around 1133-1144 in Spain, here you can find more about the Monastery: http://www.spanishmonastery.com/history.html it is a beautiful place!

This is both beautiful and dramatic. And -- as I've come to expect -- your composition is right on. I very much like the way you used the script and textures to achieve this look. They're a great complement for the monastery. I think I'd have opened up the dark surrounding just a little, but it's great just the way it is. (When I tried that in Photoshop, where the image is shown on a slightly darker field, I was able to see the thin white border and the nice edge that presumably comes from the dark texture. They're a great touch.)

Hi Mirenchu; outstanding composition...beautiful, warm color tones...great leading lines down the hallway, softened by the arches...and the addition of the script gives this a haunting, historical feel. Like Dennis, I think I would have opened up the shadows a bit...giving an even greater sense of depth and definition...but that's a minor nitpick overall. Well done!

Mirrenchu, This is lovely. I really like the way you chose to present this with the script-it adds to the old world feel. I like the composition but wonder if a teeny bit more height would add a bit more drama to the arch at the top. Very nice work Mirenchu. I have been wanting to go there since I saw Oscar Z's. images years ago. And now this one of yours has convinced me!! I am hoping to make it on my next trip to Florida.

Beautifully composed image, Mirenchu, love how you combined the script with the image, and the textures and dark vignette are a nice touch.

Wonderful post processing and texture work here. I like the warm colors. I usually do not like text in photos, but it works to advantage here.
