    Default Night Blooming Cereus pastel

    Hi Folks:

This is a capture from our garden before the frost last year tummbled our 14' Night Blooming Cerus that would have over a dozen large blooms at a time. Pastel done using Alien Skin Art and framed with onOne Photo Frame 2 free. I'm giving you a choice as I need some feed back.

    Thanks for taking a look.

    Gus

No contest (in my mind). The first image is the winner. A number of things are different, so it's hard to say what's most important. I think it's the embellishment in the lower right corner that does it. The flower is beautiful, and I want it to be calm and serene, but the swirling background in both images is working against that. The embellishment in the first image interrupts the motion and, even, complements the flower, somewhat.

Thank you very much Dennis, your opinion is valued and appreciated.

Thought I should give an off center for an alternive. This was a quickie done with crop, cut off left side, dragged right side out
to desired composition>used rectangular marquee to select about right width between flower & old edge>edit>free transfer>drag center arrow to new right edge>enter>select>Deselect. Then finished with Select>select all>edit>stroke> 80 px dark blue gray>inside>30%>OK>Select>Select All> Edit>stroke>same dark gray>inside>2px>100%>OK

    Sounds longer than it took
