Joel, very nicely done. The bird stands out from the background. Good all around image quality.

Very nice shot. I love the eye. Was there any kind of food/bait directly on the branch/trunk?

The only minor improvement I might consider is that I would perform a bit of recovery (Don't know yet how it is called in PS, so I'll stick to the Lightroom terms) on the chest, as part of the whites there look a bit blown on my monitor.

Thanks for looking and commenting, I have a suet cage hanging from a pole just out of view to the left of the perch and there are a couple of food holes drilled in the perch as well but they were empty at the time.

The whites on the upper chest do look a little hot but they are not clipped, I could try to recover some more detail.

    Joel,

The whites are in check, there are a few hot pixels but nothing significant, I might clone some detail in there or apply recovery as mention by PA. Nice setup shot, I might take a layer off the bottom and evict the knot on the perch, subject stuff, others might like it this way. Nice job using top AF point to support the vert composition and you made the colors pop - well done.

Very pretty shot Joel. Color is rendered perfectly, nice detail and background. All around excellent work! I might crop a bit from the right.

Fine Shot. Cleans and sweet BG. HA and a nice profile also the eye contact. Just wish there was a little more detail in the whites on the throat. Also, JMO, I would crop a little more from Bottom. But LIke it as presented. Lovely Image. The bird is not easy to shoot in the time it offers.

This is a super portrait Joel. Love the sharpness, light, colour and overall look. Some good tweaks suggested above but I would say this image is pretty well "there".

Simply beautiful. Reminds me that I need to refill my suet feeder...
