    Another rainforest fungus commonly found growing around Bracken Fern.

    Canon EOS 3, Canon 100mm macro, ISO 100, Flash x2, F22, Tripod.

    Hey John, you sure get a lot of cool fungi down under. Great colors and focus. The tops look a little grainy from the highlights. I shoot shrooms with natural light and will set my diffusser directly overhead to help with strong highlights on top. Sometimes I do shoot with the highlights if I'm looking for that effect.

    A good composition and beautiful colours from the fungi king! You have done this fine specimen justice, John, and the highlights do not worry me . . . although it would have been interesting to see a comparative image based on Mike's suggestions.

    You are killing us with this one John, its that good, you have been saving this one all this time? This is my favorite of your fungi images.

    The caps do standout but I dont see it as a problem, bright vibrant reds are always difficult to reproduce.
