Hello everyone. This little ducks are usually a very skittish and hardly ever get near me. Well while I was taking some pics of the male bufflehead. A little fight broke out between the male buffle and a juvie buffle. This attracted some ducks and in that bunch was this grebe. This is the closest shot I have ever caught of this duck. Nearly full frame.

Hi Robert, since these guys are fairly small, you are lucky to capture a close up, rather than cropping a distant subject. Good HA here, together with a super low perspective. I do like the colours of the water, and feel another round of sharpening wont harm this image.

I really like the pinks and soft blues of the BG. Good head turn. I would clone out the extra catchlight (if you are OK with cloning). Very nice image,

Robert, great job getting low...such a small bird that it forces one to go super low. you captured an excellent head position. Some more sharpening will help. The WB is a little too magenta for my tastes. Terrific shot nevertheless. superb BG.
