This was taken a few weeks ago on an overcast day. C&C appreciated.

Hello Cathy, what a handsome bird and well captured. I like the pose and head angle. I feel the image could be a bit sharper, probably just needs a bit more sharpening. I'm reading a strong green color cast to the image, so I took the liberty of doing a quick color balance adjustment in PS to bring out some blue and red plus a light round of sharpening. I would add a catch light, something that often goes missing on an overcast day.

Hi Kerry - Welcome back--so glad your surgery was a success. Loved your snow geese posts! I like the color adjustments you made to the willet
--makes the image pop a bit more. I have several more taken the same day--some with two of them in some very funny poses that I will work on. Thanks for your suggestions--they are very much appreciated.

    Cathy,

Love this species the issue here is detail, image is a bit soft. I believe the Nikon kit can support higher ISO ranges as you know when you double the ISO a stop of light is gained. Probably a faster shutter, better panning technique or tripod might have made the shot stronger- do you carry a flash. I am assuming this was hh, nice job controlling the background it is clean and muted. I might take a small layer off the bottom as well. Excellent low shooting angle and the composition is nice - the cloudy day did not help the sharpness any, on balance nice pic.
