    Default White-banded Crab Spider

    This White-banded Crab Spider (Misumenoides formosipes) was photographed in Missouri last September. (I have not seen this species up here in Minnesota.) 5D II, MP-E 65 mm, 1/125, f/16, ISO 400, MT24-EX macro twin flash (diffused), hand held. RAW file processed in CS5. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

    Steve, I'm surprised at how much DOF you were able to squeeze out of that lens on this shot. This species is common in my area and unless this one is a baby, they aren't all that small. You did a wonderful job with the yellows of this White-banded spider. Overall it looks great as presented but you might consider slightly lightening up the dark areas of the BG near the top. Another winner in my book!

    Great details on the spider and very nice colors. The dark BG complements very nice the subject.
