As you can tell from the tech data it was a captive bird, Snowy Owls don't tend to visit Wirral very much at all. The image was taken at a local Birds of Prey workshop. I am almost certainly correct if I say this is the first time a Snowy Owl has been photographed in snow in Wirral.
The image has been re-worked bearing in mind some comments that were made on my original post.
    All C & C welcome.

Nice work on the whites of the owl. I like his pose too. Is that it's prey directly under it's chest?

    Jonathan:

It might be helpful to include a repost with the original image, so we know where you came from!

    Thanks

    Jonathan:

Nice job replacing the rock! Did you have another frame to work with as source material for the grasses you cloned in where the rock had been? I didn't see a patch in this frame that matched your cloned in area.

If no extra frame, extra credit for creative cloning work!

    Cheers

Randy no there was no alternative source, I cloned from the left hand side and transferred to the right trying to mix and match alignment so retain the degree of focus from one side to the other.

Hi Jon, a bit late here, but excellent exposure on the Snowy. Love the eye contact, although I may have lightened the eyes a touch more. Great work on getting rid of the rock, and yes, the trick to cloning is to ensure that the patterns are not repeated.
