    Dear Friends,
Its a bit late , But still " Happy New Year to all my dear bird loving friends".

    Have a beautiful year ahead.

About the PIC: It was one of those days where the bird is a bit bolder than usual and lets you close and on that day I came across this beautiful Short toed snake eagle sit on a ant hill and warming up with the setting sun.

    Spec: 1/1250, F 5.6, ISO 800, -1/3.

    Mk4+500mm+1.4TC

    Regards,

    Kiran.

Kiran, light and details are great. Great job getting so close. Very unique with those nictitating membranes. Would also like to see one with nictitating membranes not closed.

very nice light and details Kiran, while it is interesting to see a photo with the nictitating membrane I personally prefer one with eyes wide open for this kind of portrait. TFS

Happy new year to you too, I am looking forward to your excellent work!

Happy New Year to you also, Kiran. Interesting image. At first I was mesmerized by the detail in the membranes and the more I looked at this, the more my attention drifted to that incredibly sharp beak. Thanks for thinking a bit differently and sharing this one.

A Dramatic image, further dramatised by the nictitating membrane...... a very different perspective. Very nice....

Sweet light. Are you sure this bird isn't a zombie?
