Ok, I know what they are. Sandhill Cranes in silhouette on a November evening. The sky was really purple and blue, but I wanted yellow and orange so I used Nik Color EFX Pro to change the bg colors. The cool thing is that I changed the colors to reflect what you might really see on any given evening.

Beautiful silhouette Kerry. I love the separation and the umbrella look to their poses.

Hi Kerry, Love the lighting. The three cranes all with similar flying positions are very cool. Very Nice!

I love the colors you chose for the sky and agree with Denise and Jay on the poses of the birds.

Great compostion with the 3 cranes dropping down. Exactly what did you use in Nik Effex Pro to change the bkgd? It's lovely!

    Thanks everyone!

Nancy, I used the Bi-Color Filter for the bg. Here is the original. You can see that I added a bit of canvas on the left also.

    Nice image and application, Kerry.

Nice BG effect as mentioned by others and the pose does it!

Not only is the composition good because of three cranes, but their layout in the image is right on. Very nicely done in all respects. Thanks for posting the original. It made me try out -- and learn more about the bicolor filter effect in Color Efex. You really enhanced the image with it.

Hi Kerry, lovely processing for this one. It was a good idea to add canvas. Love the look!
