Beautiful, Cheryl. I love the way these guys raise one foot to just skim the water surface. That also seems to be a favorite pose of Yellowlegs. You caught him perfectly. I might have been tempted to take a slivver off the right and add same to the left, but it's just fine as posted. Hope he's still posing when I visit there in a few weeks.

Bill Dix mentioned my points exactly. Only I am stuck here in Maine's freezer for now. I love your work Cheryl. Maybe we can shoot together one day when I come down.

Great low angle, and I love the foot position. The detail in the bird is very nice. Great capture!

Great pose. I would take some off the right and add it to the left.

    Cheryl,

Like the pose and details. IMO background is little too bright and taking attention from the subject. Fill flash might have been a little help in this kind of situation.

I chose the bird using quick selection tool and increased mid tones. Also added little more light to the eye. let me know what you think

Hey Sid, Thanks for working on this. I went back to it from the start and chose a different crop as suggested by a few and I like it. I raised the midtones but kept the shadows for more depth and also lightened the eye a bit. WDYT?

Hi Cheryl, your low angle of capture has really worked out well, and I like the wading pose with the the raised foot. Your final repost does the trick.

I'm glad I came back to this one. That final repost really looks terrific. I only wish for the tiniest head turn. Just a teeny bit

Love the toenails dragging through the water and the dangly feathers up back add a bit of character to a normally well kept bird. The inclusion of the sand/foam keeps things interesting.

    Cheryl
when I saw your original I was blown away but when I see your latest ones - wow they are terrific, it just didn't occur to me that the image could have been further enhanced but enhance it you did - congrats.

I only wish for a better head angle and a bit more above. Other than that this image is top notch and makes me crave for Desoto in a few months.......

Cheryl, wish this heron was more common here. love the elegance here. You timed it perfectly to get that foot out. Lots of good suggestions above on crop.

Thanks everyone. Thanks Daniel. I do have more room for top and keep going back and forth on it.
