Hello everyone. I captured this phoebe during some very cloudy cold weather. I enjoyed watching hunt for insects jumping from one perch to another. Did not manage any flight shots, but was able to get a couple of shots while perched.

Hi Robert, cool curved perch and a nice angled pose. The soft light has brought out the finer detail nicely. Im ok with the OOF grasses, but the brighter one could either be blurred more, toned down or removed.

What a nice image. The IQ of the bird is excellent and the comp is very nice. I like the curved perch and agree with stuart re: toning down the bright curved OOF grass,

Bird and perch look great in that soft diffused light. Lots of nice details in the plumage and a nice classic phoebe pose. Background a little more cluttered than I prefer, but still alright...except that long curved line skimming the phoebe's face and breast. I wouldn't mind seeing the subject higher in the frame too.

You are including the camera's crop in the total focal lenght but it should be just 300mm x 1.7 TC.

Super detail in the bird and a very nice pose, I agree regards the background maybe a little quick selection or magic wand and a light brushing would help.

Sweet little Phoebe. I like the soft light and detail on the bird but not too fond of the one bright oof branch but I like the rest of the bg.
