    Two cataract surgeries later, I am back on the boards!

    Here is a Snowy Egret from the Salton Sea. Slight crop to remove part of another bird on the right.

    7D, EF400mm f/5.6L
    Manual mode, f/8@1/2500 ISO 400 WB 5100K
    AI Servo autofocus, hand-held no flash

    Wow! This is superb. I love the pose and the crown feathers. The whites are perfect.I might clone out the 2 circles in front of the bird in the BG and tone down the white smudge behind the bird. One of your best,

    Bird looks fantastic!! BG needs some more work - removing the bright area on the left etc.

    Amazing pose and beautiful exposure! I think if you worked out the bg this would be a great image.

    This is a cracking shot. Background is not great but inspite of that this still has the wow factor.

    Wow, Kerry ... it almost makes me want cataract surgery! Gorgeous exposure. The small circles don't bother me.

    Hi Kerry, excellent exposure and sharpness, and you have certainly nailed the incoming pose. Those yellow feet really stand out. Have you tried blurring the BG so as not to make it un-natural.

    Love the bird, and especially those feet. Does look a little bit like he is going to crash into the rock.

    Kerry, whites look so perfect. DOF, IQ, pose, raised crest...superb on all counts. BG issue already mentioned. If mine, I'd just crop tighter on the left side.
