Hello all, hope you are having a great holiday season. I wish the very best of new years to everyone! My cataract surgeries were very successful and my vision is 20/20 without glasses, even though one eye is less than two weeks post-op!

Just prior to having my first surgery, I made the pilgrimage to Bosque del Apache. Had a great time shooting with Doug Brown and Jim Neiger, as well as spending some time with Ian Cassell. If you haven't made it to the Bosque yet, I highly recommend that you put it on your list of places to go!

Here is a Snow Goose landing in one of the farm fields in the north end of the refuge. I cloned out a bit of another goose in the LRC.

Hey, Kerry! Welcome back and HNY! Congrats on your successful surgery.

This is a nice comeback shot! I'm only seeing it on my crummy monitor at work, but techs look good to me. I like the positioning of the bird in the frame and that wonderful Bosque BG.

I've already planned my Bosque time for next November

Hi Ian! It was great to meet you and shoot with you. Look forward to seeing you next year too. Thanks for the tip on taking Hwy 60 back to Arizona, what a treat that was! I think I saw about three cars in four hours...

20-20 is better than I have with no glasses!! Hey Kerry, great to have you back. You must have missed the passion we all have- making nature images- during recovery.

Love this one. The texture and detail in the whites is fabulous. I must get to Bosque sometime.

    Welcome back,

I love the critically sharp pictures and this is nailed!!

Great detail for a BIF image, technique it spot on. Agree with John on detail, whites and texture.

Welcome back Kerry. I'm glad to hear your surgeries went well. I hadn't been here lately so I didn't know why you were gone, but I'm glad it all worked out. It must be great to be back to 20/20 again. I love this flight shot. The whites are perfect and even the undersides of the wings are beautifully lit. Great image!

Welcome back, Kerry! Your eyes are working well here! Nice exp, sharpness and bg! I thought that you had to have big glass for Bosque!

    Thank you all!

Dan, big glass is the bomb but you can still get some good images with 400mm and 1.6x crop factor.

Brilliant shot Kerry. I love the detail and your handling of the whites is supreme.
Great to see what is possible with the 7D400 combo.

    Regards
