I'm not sure that I've posted this one yet. It's been lying in my BPN folder for a while so I thought I'd pop it on today.

I want to wish all our wonderful Wildlife participants a happy 2012! May good sightings in good light come your way, and may your health keep up with your desire to live life to the fullest.

Morkel - beautiful portrait with nice detail and color. Did you do some cloning or blurring of the bg just off the left of the nose? It looks a little different than the rest of the bg.

Happy New Year and wishes of health, happiness and good shooting to you too!

    TFS,
    Rachel

Nice light. I would like to see a bit more room all around this handsome guy. I might go a bit brighter as well,
GaiPS I see what Rachel is seeing. What is it?

    Thanks folks.

I have looked closely at the RAW file and my best guess is that the area you are speaking of is actually the buck's breath mist

Hi Morkel, agree, it is the breathe that is visible.

Might suggest Col Balance midtones +17, 0, -17 figure % optional to taste, but it removes the slight coolness for me, WDYT?

Enjoy the New Year, whatever it may bring, but trust it is a fruitful one.

    Thanks Ofer, Steve and Brendon.

Ofer - yep, would have given him a bath if he'd let me
I will play around with the colour balance a bit, Steve
