First time posting on this forum. Taken from a local pond a few weeks back. I really like these very active and comical ducks. They are a treat to watch.

    Carmelo,

Great techs and wonderful light. Classic duck pose with great eye contact. Details are very nice too. Whites may be just a little hot. I would consider getting them down for more details.
Regarding composition, I would take a bit off the bottom and left for better placement of subject. Some thing similar to this.

    Welcome to BPN.

    Welcome to BPN Carmelo!

Nice first post, especially that of a subject that is difficult to approach up here. Sharp and good details, nice incoming pose. I can see this one with more cropped off the bottom, or presentesd as Sid has done. Looking forward to more!

P.S. You can send a message to either James Shadle or Chris Ober for them to change your user name to your real name (as per BPN registration policy). Thanks, and have a wonderful new year!

Hi Carmelo and welcome to BPN. I actually prefer the OP. Very nice HA. Just tone down the whites. Very complimentary BG and colors,

I know your work Carmelo and I'm pretty sure you will do well here as you have excellent pictures.
People are helpful with their critique here most of the time.
Great shot of a nice and difficult subject.
The repost by Sid appears to be more pleasing to the eye in terms of composition.

Nice pose and low angle. I'm with tajing from the bottom but adding just a tiny more back to the left. Great water colors too.

Wonderful shot. I really like the shooting angle, great head turn, and Sid's repost really brings out the duck more.
    Well done and welcome.

Hi Carmelo, A big welcome to BPN from me too. Good low perspective, and you have captured the perfect approaching swimming pose. I like the detail and sharpness, and Sid has shown a good example of what can be done. We dont always have to agree, but it gives each other a guide to what works best.

Nice capture Carmelo. Welcome to BPN...I know how difficult these ducks to get closer and capture them in perfect position...You did great.
