This juvi loon was imaged in northern Michigan in July. He is in that scruffy adolescent phase where he is losing his fluff and growing in his juvi plumage.

D700 600VR f/4.5 1/800s ISO 800 SB-800 with beamer taken from my little boat, the Loonie Too.
