    Outstanding Joe. Lots of detail in the shadows and highlights, which is not easy for a b/w bird in pretty bright light. I really like the way you have captured the woodpecker looking away from the tree. This de-emphasises the tree, which often plays too big a role in woodpecker images IMO. There's something funny going on with the contrast about 2/3rds of the way down the tree.

    Very very nice! Really like the pinkish eye and the HA. Your techs are excellent anf the black and whites are really good. I am wondering what is the fuzzy area on the tree just below the halfway mark?
