    Although I would not say the most pleasant.
    The beached Grebe's, a portrait of dignity in probably a fatal situation.
    Although I watched them get washed out at last, you can see from the eyes,
    It was a rough day.
    The end of my first year posting here, Thanks to all for all the comments and critiques, I feel
    I have learned a lot in 12 months, a pretty good photography course!
    Off to do some landscapes for a bit during the gloomy dark season in the Northwest.

    Happy New Year to you and yours Dan. A poignant story for sure and I agree that the eye seems to convey distress . The untidy feathers and foam around the bird also tell the story. Terrific HA and low angle,

    A telling image for sure. I think it might be improved by getting rid of the white line that runs into the head. Otherwise a fine capture. Happy New Year.

    A very wonderful image indeed. Love the pose, excellent head angle, great shooting angle, and I really like the comp.
