This year I had great time photographing in SW Florida and in Homer, AK. Although, I had many favorite images, the one that tops the list was this Burrowing Owl zoom-blur taken at Cape Coral, FL in February.
It doesn't seem like a year since we last shared our favorites. But time has come as Indranil notes.
Like all, I feel that this was a great year for OOTB forum. A lot of friendships and knowledge have been shared here. I look forward to the coming year and the images to be viewed.
I also had a hard time deciding the image to post, as I have gotten more knowledgable of the post processing options and thus created some images that I remember, thanks to those here who critique for our benefit and learning. But given the meaning of this one, I felt it was appropriate as well as one of my personal favorites. It represents the "End of a Era" in America's history that we all lived. It symbolizes the final three launches of Atlantis, Discovery and Endevor, of which I was very moved and fortunate to view at the Cape.
So we can all say, thanks for the memories.
One suggestion I would have to Denise, Indranil and Kerry, is to move this post to the sticky area, if possible, so it doesn't end up moving to the bottom of the page as the days go on. Too good to loose!
I tell everyone I can how wonderful and supportive you participants in this OOTB forum are! Here's looking forward to a great 2012!
One of my favs is the composites of smoke images. This one shows a few of the parts and beginning composites...
I had forgotten how fun it was to see everyone's favorite images for the year. Here's mine - for two reasons - I liked the fract effect and mood and also because it was a day of incredible bird activity at a local lake and I was fortunate to be there.

Mark, You had so many good ones this year! Happy New Years!
Steve, I remember that one and I love it! Great creativity as always! Happy New Year!
Cheryl, I remember that image too. I love the Fract. effect that you applied. Happy New Year!
As I looked back over the year, one photo stood out to me, at least in terms of time spent in PP. I just plain like the mood of the image, and it brings back some nice memories of the trip to the Smoky's.
I had so much fun this year, enjoying and learning from all the creative & artistic images posted here at OOTB. A lot of favorites, including this one:
Happy New Year!
Brendan, I remember that one-it's a fantastic capture that you filtered perfectly!
Maureen, I don't think anyone will forget your incredible paint dances!!
My favorite from last year. This is from my visit to India and I loved India. Plus I really like the mood of this image.
I've having a great time viewing these images. Some I remember and some I missed and so I'm thrilled to see them now! Everyone is most talented and creative!
Thanks for the memories... This is a great tradition and well represented so far by those who have posted here. OOTB is just that, let the juices fly and see what happens.
