Another image from last weeks bighorn tour. Not a fighting image but a mating chase where a receptive ewe will lead the rams on a test of endurance to ensure only the strongest ram will breed. Here the sheep show their amazing abilty to run across a nearly vertical rock wall

Wow this is fantastic behavior captured here...I can see how difficult it is to separate these from the BG..it would be great if we can a larger version of this image...I would also like to see if cropping some space from top can makes it look any more interesting...TFS

Awesome behavior, habitat image. Really communicates what amazing balance they have. Wondering if some added contrast would give rams a bit more separation from cliff, but their ability to blend in is another part of the story.

Interesting behavior. Perspective and dof almost makes it feel like an aerial shot.

Wonderful behavior. I was there and did not see this one. What a shot of fast action. thanks for leading the interesting and very cold tour. Temps were just at the limit of what I was prepared for.

Gotta be tough Steve This is just below where the sun was illuminating the cliffs in that spectacular afternoon light.. Didn't get the same action in the sunlight???

Hi Dale, love the 'arc' the Bighorn have created, sweeping down, right to left. The backdrop of the sheer face of the cliff illustrating how agile these animals are.

Good to see you back here and posting, hope to see more in the coming New Year and a lot others can learn from your postings too Dale.

Cool shot. Not only a nice habitat and behavioral image, the sheep gave you a great compositional line.
