Exquisite detail on this little guy. Lower capture angle and a bit of a head-turn would make this a stunner. I might prefer just a little more room right and top. In my neck of the woods it's very hard to get close to these fellows - they always dive and then pop up just out of range. Well captured.

Wow, the detail is fantastic! How lucky to have this little one come so close. I've only caught glimpses of them off in the lake. Great shot!

Roy - excellent shot, detailed and good exposure. I can't seem to get a good shot of these guys with them avoiding me. What do you think about a little CW rotation?

Roy, I'm jealous. I see a lot of these guys but they nearly always are far out in the pond and out of reasonable distance for my 400. Very nice exposure. The only things I would have suggested would be to get down lower rather than looking down at him and loosening the crop up just a little bit.

Ian, I would have gotten lower but to get him in frame I had to back up. These were taken on Pond 5 at Gilbert Water Ranch.
