    Default Eclectic Statues

This is a photo of a group of eclectic statues on the grounds of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art here in Kansas City. (I believe they are bronze but can't say for sure.) Anyway, I tried my hand at a little burning and dodging and added a soft blurred vignette at the far (right) end along with a bit of a dark vignette around the edges. I left just the area near the statues opened up 100% to the original light. All comments welcome!

Very interesting subject matter, Jules. I like the composition and tonal range. The slight vignette is a nice touch. I might darken the lightest areas just a little, particularly the area in between the center and right statues.

nice comp. I may be seeing this a bit quirky, though, but I see a very nice shadow behind the right statue but none behind the others. Did the light angle affect this or the dodge/burn?

Chris, thanks for the suggestion...I also wondered if I left that area a bit too light.

Hazel, must be my angle to the statues and sun as the shadows are natural. I only burned/dodged on the actual statues themselves where the highlights were too bright or the shadows too dark. I think what you're seeing there is where the wall juts out a bit and that's why the shadow is visible.

yeah, that makes more sense. Still, a nice comp and contrast of the statutes to the textures of the walls
