Hi Denise, the Sandpiper seems pretty relaxed posed on the steep slope. I can see why they are called 'purple' sandpipers - lovely colour, and I do like the feather detail, together with the wind swept feathers on the chest. Yep, this guy sure seems to blend in with the rocky surroundings.

this is really beautiful image with inclusion of habitat ..

i think giving a little S curve might help as i see the mids opened up higher side. May be i am wrong on that part as i havent seen this bird ever and dont know the plumage.

It was nice meeting you other day Denise...It surely looks relaxed and camouflaged...you separated it from BG very nicely and love the feather details. The black patch of OOF left side of rock is bit distracting.

I did not know that these guys hang around jetty when I visited so I did not make any effort to find and photograph these beautiful birds...

This is one of the few images of a purple sandpiper that I have seen that shows the purple. Amazingly sharp for a SS of 1/80. I like the POV and the rocky ledge. I would like to see a bit more pop in the bird and would increase the blacks in the neutrals by a couple of points. I would also take a sliver more off the LHS ( but that is a personal preference thing). A very nice image,
