Welcome and nice first post, much better than mine for sure! Some of the blacks are blocked - minor adjustments with levels and/or shadows and highlights to lighten to open the darks - simple exposure adjustments might work as well. Nice use of the rule of thirds the subject is well positioned in the frame - this is no simple task - positioning the subject correctly is critical to the balance of the picture. Perfect head angle and nice eye, I might add a small bit of sharpening and light here as well. Did you run any noise reduction, I am seeing a bit of haze in the background. Well done please keep em coming - what do you use to spot meter the image - thanks for sharing.
Vimal, beautiful shot. Excellent first post! Welcome to BPN, a great site as you know. Great background and good head angle. I agree with Jeff's comments regarding the blacks. Could I suggest a vertical crop? May be a bit too much empty space to the right for me.
Super bird. Nice pose and head angle. The background is beautiful and really complements the bird. Black birds show this sheen in direct sun- overcast conditions would have shown off the bird better IMO.
The main thing I want to comment on is the composition and crop. For me the bird does not have enough room above, below and to the left, and too much room to the right. For illustrative purposes I have redone the crop and composition by adding and subtracting canvas. You may have the real canvas to play with in the original image. As you can see it doesn't take much addition to make a difference.
