I found this shot on my Rebel XS and 100-400mm set-up ( my back-up when using my 500 on the 7D)
    SS 1/1000
    f 5.6
    ISO 400
Almost full frame- took a 5% sliver off the left to crop out part of Mom's hind leg

Who needs a pacifier (or soother) when you have this!I like this shot because I have found it very difficult to get clear shots of very young ellies-Mom or family is always in the way!
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,

Gail - I like the walking pose and it is nice to get a clear shot of the baby. I'd prefer a little more room in front. Looks like the light was a bit harsh but handled well.

    Hi Gail,
Although the light was not on your side you managed quite well.I see a shadow in front of the baby elephant I guess it's the mothers or your vehicle
Wish you a very happy new year

Very cute baby elephant. Techs are well handled. Shadow is a bit of a distraction. You did good!

Nice job on the exposure and timing to get that stride. Have to agree about the shadow because of the lack of any other distractions.
