I like the colourful subject, pose and clean BG. Well done Jeroen! Was this a set-up?

Wonderful image!! Great looking bird. Exposed well, love the background, great perch, and excellent job on the flash.
    Well done.

Beautiful color, nice pose, and good sharpness. The colors of the bird look great against the green BG. DOF falls off in the tail feathers but the body is nice and sharp. I might go for a slightly looser crop. I know this is splitting hairs but I wonder what this would have looked like with 1/3 of a stop less flash and a bit more ambient exposure.

Amazing colors and great detail. I'd like a little more room for the tail.

Hi Jeroen, striking colours on this parrot, and good use of flash work. Im fine with the comp, and posed nicely against a smooth BG. Another vote for wanting to know where this was captured.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for your comments so far. As for the comp i think i like to keep it this way as a wider composition would not ad much in this case in my opinion. The flash could have used a -1/3 extra and some more ambient light though light was scarse that day i think as Doug mentioned.
The shot was taken at a picnic area in Australia and there was no need to lure the birds in as they where hanging around the picnic place hoping to find some food anyway. I just placed this perch hoping one of the birds would land on it wich eventually happened.

    greetings,

    Jeroen Stel
