OSPREY WITH KILL
This image was made in Chambal, north India a couple of hours drive from Agra where the famous TAJ MAHAL is located. It’s a great place to make water birds image. You normally hire a boat and sail around the river looking for birds in the water and on the banks in winter you get to see a lot of migratory birds.
The soil on the banks of the river gives your images a beautiful background.
Camera: Nikon D300
Lens: Nikon 200-400 f4 with 1.5 converter
Aperture: f 8
Shutters: 1/800
Speed: ISO 400

Nice comp overall (I'd take about half the top space out), and I like the sense of vast environment behind the subject. If possible, what you needed to do here was to move left or right until the object behind the bird was out of the frame. A better head angle would also been good. Well done, though. I like the roomy feel of the image.

I almost totally agree. I said almost only because I don't like that pearch... looks a bit unnatural.

Hi Saverio,
The perch is natural. Indian wildlife sanctuaries do not have any unnatural perches nor is luring birds with bate allowed.
cheers

I like your vertical comp, although I agree taking a bit off the top will work too. Good looking Osprey and a bonus with his meal. Doug has a good point about bringing out more detail on the Osprey.
