    Default OSPREY WITH KILL

Size: 218.9 KBThis image was made in Chambal, north India a couple of hours drive from Agra where the famous TAJ MAHAL is located. It’s a great place to make water birds image. You normally hire a boat and sail around the river looking for birds in the water and on the banks in winter you get to see a lot of migratory birds.
The soil on the banks of the river gives your images a beautiful background.

A classic Osprey activity and a nice perch. Sharpness is good. And I like the raised feathers on the back of the head. The bird is underexposed, and the darks look a little blocked on my monitor. Also I wish the object behind the bird wasn't there.
Upcoming Workshops: Bosque del Apache 2019, Ecuador 2020 (details coming soon)

Nice comp overall (I'd take about half the top space out), and I like the sense of vast environment behind the subject. If possible, what you needed to do here was to move left or right until the object behind the bird was out of the frame. A better head angle would also been good. Well done, though. I like the roomy feel of the image.

I almost totally agree. I said almost only because I don't like that pearch... looks a bit unnatural.

    Hi Saverio,
The perch is natural. Indian wildlife sanctuaries do not have any unnatural perches nor is luring birds with bate allowed.
    cheers

I like your vertical comp, although I agree taking a bit off the top will work too. Good looking Osprey and a bonus with his meal. Doug has a good point about bringing out more detail on the Osprey.
