    Default Mexican Sheartail baby

Here is another picture from the meeting with the Mexican Sheartail hummingbirds. The chick was trying it's wings and making it's first flights from branch to branch. It was a pleasure to see her "first steps".

Cool shot and I like the look back pose, like the spider weds as well - possibly a bit off the bottom so the dividing branch is not visable.

Lovely image! Pose and spider web are awesome! Pity about the high iso as there is quite a lot of noise.

Beautiful picture. I love the pose. Not difficult to understand that it was a wonderful experience

What an amazing opportunity you had! Awesome pose, even the head angle is perfect and I love the spider webs. Noise can be dealt with easily in post. Colour balance seems a bit off to me, perhaps try warming the WB. I'm the opposite of Tom here as I'd add a tad below if you have it (the low part of the perch seems close to the edge for me).

I could go with more below as well.

Hi Daniel, I would love to hear from you how you can 'easily' get rid of such noise on the wings with files taken at 3200 iso - maybe you can repost this image?
    Thanks,
    Ofer

Hi Lorant, very well timed to get this pose, and a great view of the colours on her back. Comp wise, all three options will work - as is, taking off a touch from the bottom, and adding on.

As posted it ain't that bad really. I used Noise Ninja on the BG, and more sparingly on the subject's wings and OOF parts. BG was easy but for the subject itself I'd love a stab at a full resolution image - it would be much easier with that with much better results.

P.S. While at it I added some yellow to the overall image's WB.

Very nice work there, Daniel. I agree with adding some warming to the image and the extra NR makes it look great. As far as the composition goes I didn't want to place the bird too high in the frame and I settled with this option.

Thank you everyone for the comments.

Repost is a big improvement Daniel! However, the tricky part won't be easy to fix even when working with the full resolution - getting rid of the noise on the wings as it results from the very high ISO.
I don't advise anyone to use iso 3200 with the Mark III for bird photography.

great dynamic pose and a nice BG. like the HA. I agree the IQ (that is feather details) lacks due to very high ISO. of course you can run NR on BG but the feather details cannot be recovered in this case. Great shot, hope you can get one in better light soon!
