Default Moon over Kachemak Bay Mountains!

I was looking through my Homer folders and found this image with the moon over the mountains across China Poot Bay. It was one of those rare days when we had clear sky and perfect sunset. For processing, cropped to pano and used Topaz Adjust applying three different preset effects - HDR, vibrant and simplify with local as well as global adjustments followed by Topaz denoise. Also used adjustment layers for selective colors to adjust cyan and blue and reduce the yellow cast. Applied topaz InFocus as a final step to sharpen the image. Hope you like it...

    Hello Indranil,

This image is simply gorgeous! I would like to see the original to see the difference in processing. In particular, I'm curious about the HDR step (this was done with a single image, correct?).

Hi Roger, Thanks. Yes, this is a single image HDR. Topaz Adjust 5 has HDR presets which is a combination of adaptive exposure, colors, details and curve. I adjusted the settings to get this effect. Here is the original image...

Very nicely done Indranil. The Simplify adds a nice painterly look to the mountains. This reminds me of Alaska!

Beautiful landscape scene, Indarnil! Nice light, and moon is great touch. Real nice work with the processing to give it that painterly quality.

Indranil, Excellent, classic landscape. Your processing is right-on. Really like how you brought the moon to life. Wonderful sense of depth to the scene. Well done!

Wow! What an amazing before and after difference. Your processing and composition really brought out the potential in this scene. Nice work. I might've toned down the reflection of the sky a bit, but this was very well done.

    Hello Indranil,

Now that I've had a chance to look at you image on my calibrated desktop monitor, I notice a halo around the mountains. For most of the mountains it just looks like a brightening near the horizon, but the highest peak shows the halo around the peak.

    Roger
