Like the intent-ful play jump and element of surprise.

Nit: the image feels a little "flat" - perhaps due to the even light(?) A bit of mid-tone/contrast correction/adjustment could do wonders IMHO :)

Dan - great action and your timing was good to capture it mid-pounce and I like the comp. Is this a large crop? It seems like the IQ unfortunately has suffered a bit in a loss of detail and that there is some noise. I hope you share more of the action.

    Dan,

It appears something occurred in processing. The Kits lack detail I would expect to see. The brush between them is sharp, but they appear to to have motion blur that I would not expect at 1/2000 sec.

FG and BG OOF areas are funky looking.

Lovely moment, but I would agree that something seems "off"...did you perhaps run noise reduction on the entire image? The kits look like they might have undergone some processing in that area?

Would love to find and photograph some of these. May have to make it out to the Plover festival someday. Nice timing on the capture, that guy is in for a surprise.

Dan, nice capture of the action, I like the poses of the kits. I look forward to seeing some of these guys, hopefully this coming year!
