This is one of the first images with the new Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 I was able to photograph, after buying it.

Sadly, this day I've left the 40D in home and was shooting with the Mark II n with 1.3 crop factor. The eagles were too high and the image does not pretend for image quality, but the timing with the eagles in fight.

    2N, Sigma 120-300 at 300mm + canon 1.4x, f/7.1, 1/1600, ISO 320.
Pay attention that this is 100% crop of the frame.
PP: only USM and NR for the post process.

Generally, i was astonished with the Sigma. I was able to execute a profound test with lots of images (several times) so as to compare the quality of the lens and find it better than the Canon 300mm f/4 L IS. I noticed the difference even at the field where I shoot in real conditions, with images very sharp and usable at 100% crops, even when shooting birds at respectable distance.

The test is available in the sign.

Took me a minute to figure out what was going on. From the thumbnail I thought I was going to see a reflection and it fooled me.

Awesome capture. I only wish to see the top birds head a little better.
