    Default Minature Broadbill in the eye

    Hi Folks;

    Captured the male Broad-billed Hummingbird in Madera Canyon, AZ and the background was fun.
    Started with a leaf from our fig tree, took it into CS5 and played with it, First colored it Sepia, then
    into Filter>Distort>Wave>played with strength. Then back to Filter>Distrort>Twist played with strength
    and ended at 220. Then moved my minaturized on top of BG, and finished with minor enhancements,
    Choosing Sig font with a bit of a swirl to go with waves. Probably shouls have colorized the Hummer a
    shade of Sepia, but ended up with a fade of the Hummer's brilliant plumage.

    Comments welcome and appreciated.

    It's a hummercane! Love the dynamic flow of the image with the hummer there in the eye of the storm. Nice sepia toning. I don't mind at all that the hummer is still in color, but I would be curious to see how it would look with the hummer in sepia too. Nice work!

    Hi Gus! I really like the concept you have, but the poor little guy looks like he's getting sucked in. I hope you don't mind me playing around a bit -- here's a variation with the hummers escaping the vortex.

    Special for Christopher- thought I would reinforce my first idea of sepia for the hummer that i invisioned, and Christopher said he would like to see it. So i made more changes that give me more of the Vortex title that Mitch came up with. I also feel that the light edges give a feeling of the vortex increasing its intensity. I think even the sig is going in the same direction.

    I think this is what the forum is all about - speak up so we can all merge our ideas for the better. Just like "the best man for the job is a woman", and many have proved it

    I think life is beautiful, and that beauty is in the eye of the behoder.

    Very nice alternate version, Gus! The increased turbulence is great, and I like how the hummer looks in sepia.

    Gus, All three versions are cool. I like the way you thought OOTB for this one!

    Great thinking here, I quite like the bird in sepia as well. Looks almost metallic.
