Default ALERT For Early Morning Southern Hemisphere Photographers

For all you lucky southern hemisphere folks, comet Lovejoy (discovered in early December by Australian amateur astronomer Terry Lovejoy) survived an amazing close pass by the sun on December 15 and is now an amazing spectacle in the morning sky before sunrise. So if you are getting up early for some bird photography, check out the eastern sky and bring moderate to wide angle lenses and tripod for some 30 second or so images. And if you haven;t planned on getting up early, consider changing your plans.

    Some links:

    From the ISS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoZIw...el_video_title

From Australian photographer Colin Legg, near Perth: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/a...=105827&d=1324

Wish I was in South Africa or Australia, or New Zealand, or ....

For the rest of us in the northern hemisphere, all we can do is hope for the next one, or get on a plane fast.

    Thanks Roger,
I had heard it required a 4.30am start where I live … aaarghh!

I would do that but we are having unseasonal overcast night conditions which is frustrating as anything.
