    Default Peregrine on the beach

My grandmother used to say "You can't cry over spilled milk". I was inching my way toward this bird and gaining his confidence when he was spooked. This image was moments before he took off. After getting over my disappointment at not being able to finish what I was working towards and create the image I had in mind, I have come to like this scene. Maybe that is the lesson from that day; enjoy what you've got and figure out how to make something from it. It's about a 40% crop and some human garbage was removed.

This is a terrific shot. You have made a delicious milkshake from the spilled milk. I really like his head angle and the wary look he is giving you. I like the light as well but my favorite is the two little humps of sand that give some nice lines,

I do like the composition you created here, Grace. Great looking Peregrine, like where it is positioned with crop, the sand and BG all work well together. I was just thinking the other day I have been getting less, and less frustrated at missed opportunities, because a) I'm still out there enjoying the outdoors and scenery no mattter what happens, and b) I know there will be plenty of other opportunities the next time out.

Lovely image, composition with an interesting head angle and character. It almost needs a caption like: "Who me?? I didn't do anything."

I love this! The habitat makes the shot IMHO.
