I'm sorry, another Kingfisher :o. I think I will keep a little eye open to the Kingfisher couple as there is yet again still little romantic activity and move on. Even with a tip regarding to back off a few meters more. Knowing nature photography's keywords: persistance, patience, being lucky, surprising, wait a little more, camouflage, etc.

Here I' ve chosen a little more extreme composition as usual (backed off a bit more) to try an create something more "out of the box". for myself, I like the (disco) color scheme in this one.

Great colors and patterns in the BG! Not to mention the bird itself which looks real nice. I like pose and compostion as is, but wonder about a crop from the top so that the perch exits the frame in the upper left corner.

    Thanks Jim and Nikolay.

I agree on the exits of the branch in the upper left corner, but I chose not to as it would leave less BG and it would again be just a more usual KF photo? I will try to struggle with it as I already did before, but with 2:3 it's not ideal.

This is a super shot, love the BG. I might crop a little more as stick right now shows same dominence as the bird. My opinion.

Interesting comp, it works for me. The "V" ending of the branch balances the placement of the kingfisher. Wicked kaleidoscopic effect in the BG.

This is lovely. Excellent composition but I wish the perch was not touching the end of the frame.

    Hi Andrew,
The colors of your subject and the pleasing background brings everything together very nicely; however the branch on the lower right side of the frame is intersecting at the right angle, need to off set the branch...:D
