Location: Home - Pretoria RSA - This barbet is often in our garden, we have crested barbets breeding in a nest box we put up a while back, I suspect the black-collared comes to check on the availability on the nest box

    Hi Craig,
I like the bird. Perch is very plain and wish for a better HA. Good choice of composition

Hi Craig, nice and sharp, and you have exposed the colours on the head very well. I would try and clean up the eye a touch - quite a few different catchlights, and if possible, blend in the light green circular highlight in the BG. ( We have produced 6 chicks this past year from our nesting box for the Crested Barbets. 2 chicks at a time. )

Nice capture of a bird I have never seen. TFS. I wish for a better angle as I find this a bit steep. Probably beyond your controll. Beautiful color and detail. BG sets it off very well.

Thanks for all your comments - much appreciated
The image was shot at a steep angle but liked the focus on that heavy bill of this bird.
We are hoping to see Crested Barbet chicks soon Stuart, both male and female working very hard
