    I was trying for a long time to make an image of a common magpie, but they are really skittish. You can drive by very close, but if you stop the engine, they are always gone.
    Yesterday I had some luck with a pair of them.

    Mark III / 500mm + 1.4 TC
    1/320 sec, f 16, ISO 320

    Nice clean bg,composition and eye contact,I would prefer a better angle

    Hi Rosl,
    Love the composition and nice background; would clone out the twig that sticks out, it distracts from your subject... Outside of this, it looks good...:D

    I'd probably go for a tighter, more vertical crop. The part of the perch that runs right along the breast / neck area really bothers me a lot. It might be a bit tedious, but removing that piece would help a lot IMO.

    Whoa, I must admit, that I even didn't notice the twing behind the breast of the bird!
    I was so happy to get those pictures that I lost my self critique....
