Looks like a pleasant little puppy dog!
I would maybe run some NR on the Background just to smooth it out a tad more.
Otherwise sharp and the pose looks relaxed and happy!

Gail - I like this one a lot. Nice comp and pose, the open mouth adds to it.

Hi Gail, the alert pose, the pricked up ears, open mouth all add to the image.

There does seem to be either a yellow or blue cast coming through IMHO. Adjusting the image in Colour balance and adding a bit of Highlight/Shadow on the face I think is working towards the right direction, but not ideal. If you had the time I would revisit the RAW and try and get the WB right, basically you are looking to get a mid grey with all three channels as close to being all equal in % terms ie R53, G51.5, B53.5%.

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the advice. I see what you mean in my OP but find your repost has some magenta in it. I will go back to the raw to find something in between!

Wonderful, alert look captured, Gail. I'm on my laptop where your colors look good, but I cannot be sure. Love his spots and also his disinterest in you.

I agree Gail - Steve is going in a good direction but less magenta.

Good looking portrait with alert look and cool looking ears.

    Gail,

always nice to see a Wild Dog, just back from 10 days out of 12 with sightings of pack of 20.

Your original post looks more realistic in terms of colour to me, although perhaps it could be a little (not much) lighter
