Harshad - a nice look at an old boy. What time of day was this taken? The light looks strong but I might tone down some of the yellow or warmth just a tad. Also there's a halo below the buff's left horn (the one on the right).
TFS,
Rachel
Great like on him and I like the expression. My preference would have been not to have the bright tree coming out of the head in the BG.
Harshadbhai - love the light on this chap and the image is well exposed.
I liked Rachel's idea of 'toning down the yellow a tad'...in the repost I ran Robert's luminosity adjustments on a copied layer and painted back the OP buffalo through a mask, thereby applying the highlights adjustment to BG only.
I also ran a cooling filter at 10%.
WDYT?
I like Morkel version a bit more but its a lovely shot, love the golden light TFS![]()
Harshad, beautiful light on this buffalo and I really like the fact that you can see his eyes so well. Those fever trees at Lake Nakuru are gorgeous in early and late light.
I really like the OP and Morkel's repost. Love the eye level view,
Gail
The lighting is superb here Harshad, he's a fine looking bull with great curling horns, with Morkel's RP enhancing nicely. VWD.

The light does look bright, but a great looking animal and a nice head on view.

Hi Harshad, Morkel has very kindly addressed my initial thoughts yesterday re the yellow, which has illustrated how good this image is. I really like the stance, position in frame, basically, ALL of it!
Very rarely do you see a huge difference in people who swop makes of camera, however, the jump to Nikon has certainly brought out the photographer in you, congratulations.

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.

Agree with Robert about the bright trees. And darking them does not require digital tricks for those adverse to such. Simply old fashioned burning will do it.
His pose very nice, half front view with head and eyes towards us, nice solid stance with the legs, a buffalo stance. Yeah, "BOSS" is-the-word for this guy

true, Tom, but you would be hard-pressed to do it properly with burning without affecting the animal or leaving a halo around him unless you make a selection of the animal anyway to exclude him from your adjustments...learning to "tame the tonal brightness" instead of the tones themselves (which is what luminosity masks allow us to do) enables you to make these adjustments very smoothly and effectively...Originally Posted by Tom Graham
Nice looking animal Harshad, love the curl of those horns. Detail is excellent. Like the trees in the BG and the "forest's edge" feel they give.
