A bit of PP on this (maybe OOTB), a bright bird on a dark BG and I just maxed it out and blackened the BG water.
A Glaucous Winged Gull (I think), I liked the top view of a common bird.

I like it, Dan. I think that a vertical with some canvas added top and bottom would be another option. the white feathers look almost as if they glow and it's an interesting effect.

The bird looks great. Love thebanking pose showing the to side, Dan. I'm not sure about the black backgroudn but it is a matter of taste, I must admit.

Hi Dan, I like the backlighting effect on the edges of the wings, and good details on the head. His food item a bonus. I feel to keep this in this forum, showing a bit of the water BG that you had will work, ( it will probably still pop, if you say your original BG was dark )

Very neat and OOTB. I would like to see this as a vertical,
    Gail

I like the back lit wings and the fact that you can see a foot.

Real nice shot. Great wing spread, exposed real well, great head angle, and the dark background doesn't bother me. Although I would like to see it with the water as the background.
    Well done.
