Happy holiday to you too. I gotta say that the quality of your work has improved vastly since you showed up here. Love the rocky setting here, typical of their wintering habitat. (BTW, this is a first winter bird.) In an ideal world the bird would have been standing on the very edge of the rock and would have turned its head a bit more toward you. The image is sharp and the exposure is good. And I very much like the BKGR.

I am very grateful and humble for everything I have learned.

Nice shot Geir, I like the exposure and the pose. I think there might be an area above the length of the tail showing more noise than the rest of the background - possibly this is sharpening artefact or an area untreated for noise?

This is the best in the series so far IMHO. The bird is standing in an excellent position in a perfect and/or real world and head angle is perfect IMHO.

Geir, really well done. loved the habitat and the details. well exposed and composed. BG is awesome. I think you missed NR in some small patches around the bird (above the tail, in front of the bill, one in front of the head)

Sweet, Geir. This is my favorite of your purple sandpipers. Merry Christmas to you as well.

Hi Geir, this is tack, tack sharp, and I really like the setting with the colours. I agree with Jon, you seemed to have some noise around the sandpiper. Easily fixed.

Very nice individual, and the techs look great. As mentioned, fixing the NR in missed areas would nicely finish i toff. Although still not bad I do agree a slightly better HA would have been really good.

    Merry Christmas to you too!!!
