    Default JUNGLE OWLET | Goa

Vertical crop from a horizontal shot. This was the lifer I got his time in Goa . It was high up in the trees with its mate . But , then came within MFD at eye level for me . This was with the 2X TC . While the light was not great , I could not have asked for a better lifer shot !!!

The RHS corner is distacting with the OOF leaves , but this was the best I could get . Went on the highest mound to get it as clean as possible .

Camera : Canon 1D Mk III
    Lens : Canon 600mm f4 IS , 2X TC
    Aperture : f 11
    Shutters : 1/70
    Speed : ISO 1600

    Cheers,
    Rakesh

What a great stare!! Always exciting to get a lifer, especially in a very beautiful way such as this. Yes, the LRC is a bit distracting, but it seems you did all you could to minimize it at time of capture. You could always darken the OOF stuff at bottom right edge to match the tonality the the stuff at below the feet...I know it won't make it disappear but it may attract a bit less attention. Same goes for ULC (toning it down). Wonderful details on the striking finely barred plumage, and I like that you got the talons clear.

    Congrats on the lifer!!!

So sweet . Love the expression and great detail. A shame for the oof in front and am going with Daniel on his suggestion to see if it helps.

Congrats on the lifer! Awesome eyes and wonderful feather details. In addition to Daniel's suggestion about the OOF leaves, you could do a bit of cloning on the right side bkgd to reduce that area that most impacts the owl.

Rakesh, thats a stare you could save for ever - and how are those eyes. I do like the plumage detail, and well done for trying everything you could to get a clear shot.

Rakesh, IQ is great. congrats on getting such a nice shot of a lifer. terrific details. If mine, I'd have placed the owl in the center here....as presented, I keep wishing for more room below and to the right.
