I haven't been doing many flower shots lately and found myself with free time to play. Original image processed in Nik Color Efex using poloroid transfer. I then tweaked in Viveza, then added a texture from Shadowhouse. I did some layer opacity adjustments, and masking in photoshop, and a final vignette in LR.

Really like the flower and the colours you've ended up with. The soft textured effect is very nice. I would soften the sharp texture line on the top left corner as it seems very harsh against the softness of the rest of the image.

Dave, I love the softness and the colors. You did a great job with the vignette. Maybe a sliver more room on top- lets see what others say.

Wonderful presentation, Dave. All parts and blends seem to work so well together. I do really like the harder lines of texture the carry/weave though the flower. I'm glad you had some time to play.

My impression of the image is positive. My feeling about the strong texture lines is mixed. I like that they lead toward the flower, but I wish they were softer as they neared it. Given the nature of the tiny overall detail of the texture, though, that might be difficult to pull off. I'm fine with the crop being close to the top of the flower. (Especially with something that's not moving, i don't usually mind it being close to the edge.) My preference would be to add a little more canvas to the bottom of the image.

Excellent! It looks like the flower is draped in a delicate gauze-like fabric. It creates just a bit of texture in subtle contrast to the very soft flower, & adds depth to the image. Vignette adds a perfect touch. I do agree with Denise about a bit more room at the top.

Dave, Ireally like the comp here. The pan crop just fits the Mumm so well. Nice texturing for softness in lines and colors. I like understated images and this is no exception. Good work.

I've managed to add just a sliver to the top of the image and softened the edges ever so slightly. Let's see how this presents. Does it still need just a bit more at the top?
