Hello Everyone,
I have just recently purchased a Canon 1D Mark4 and would like to ask a technical question that I can't seem to find the answer to. Can the multi-controler on the back of the camera be setup like the 50D where you can toggle between the different function boxes when the info screen is displayed? I always found that this was a great feature of the 50D as it allows you to keep your eye close to the view finder instead of having to look all over the camera for different settings etc.
I'm kind of stuck on this one and any help would be appreciated,

P.S. - I would probably buy Artie's guide to the 1D Mark 4 but now I am flat broke
Steve, I've found with my Mark3 that the control wheel next to the shutter button selects the function boxes and the command dial on the back toggles between the various options in each function. It took me quite a while to figure this out after using the 30D for so long. I assume the Mark4 is the same.
I do know you can change what each dial does. When I bought mine the previous owner had the command dial set up to change the focus points. So every time I went to do exposure compensation the focus points moved. It was driving me nuts till I found an ebook called the Eos 1ds Mk3 DIgital Field Guide which explained how to change all the controls.
I hope this helps you, but it may not be what you are asking
