Hi Sandesh, a big welcome to the Avian forum of BPN. A great subject to start off with. Good flying posture with the raised wings, and overall well exposed against a good BG. I would like to see some more space on top and on the right.

    Sandesh:

Congrats on your first post. Looks like you have been a member for awhile, so please join in the active fun!

Good point about the crop from Stuart. If you don't have extra canvas, that one should be easy to extend.

The focus point appears to have been on the rear of the near wing which is sharp, but the head is quite soft. You might be able to improve that somewhat with more sharpening on the head

The pose is very nice, exposure good. I might try to lighten the shadows under the near wing a bit, if not already done.

    Look forward to more!

    Cheers

Sharpness issues aside, I love the wing position and BG. The light is nice too. Adding canvas would help make for better composition, and would also help with perceived sharpness as the bird would be smaller in the frame. I'd love to photograph one of these magnificent owls someday!

Lovely first post. I really like the pose and excellent timing to get it just before bird was past you. If this was cropped I think you may want to consider backing off a bit. It has a lovely bg and such a good looking bird that being smaller in frame would not hurt presentation at all.

Magnificent image to start with...Wonderful light and pose on this one...agree with everyone about adding some sharpness to head and some space addition for better composition...

Welcome to BPN Sandy! A terrific first post. Great wing position. Softness of the head is an issue but maybe with a bit of PP you can fix this,

Sandesh, big welcome. I see you've already got some great advice. Bg is great here and the underwing details as well. Well done.

    Sandy,

What the ... you knocked this off man. Yeah as what experts will commented about the technicality on the image i think this is what i would call a great image considering the fact we have in indian bird photography is much more difficult task and even more when it comes to flight and even more when it comes to owls in flight.

for me this is really a great expertise you have and should grow buddy..

Welcome to BPN! Would you mind sharing how you got him flying during the day? Have you used calls?

Havent used calls to attract the Owl
The mother owl which was at a distance guarding her young ones just saw a inquisitive dog coming next to its young
and came flying at a good speed to attack the dog . It was just this few moments i got to freeze this image

Excellent flight shot. Love the wing position, real nice background, and the repost is much better.
    Well done.
