Sweet image Gail. I like the pose, shooting angle, BG and perch. Exposure looks good to me. A bit tight top and bottom but not too bad. Would remove the lower catchlight. This is a young bird judging by the feathers on the breast with the brown rim.

Cool shot w/ a great perch.
    Nice and sharp also.

I like the unusual wing position. Very nice BG and good perch. I agree with Ofer about space and lower catchlight.

Nice pose with wing Gail. I like the perch too. Nice smooth BG. Good detail and exposure. Agree about removing small eye catch.

Nice pose and perch. Exposure and sharpness look good. Catchlight mentioned. Ditto what Dan said re: our Kingfishers. Well done. TFS

    Gail:

Excellent input from above, tend to agree with all except that although the perch has interesting details, I think it is a bit massive for the size of the bird. In a perfect world, would prefer to not have the right side there. I suspect however, that this was not a setup, so the tight crop below does tend to downplay the mass a bit.

    Cheers

Hi Gail, well exposed, and I like the pose. That BG is a killer, and Im fine with the perch. If you have more space below, I could see this as a vertical too. Double catchlight mentioned.

Thank you gentlemen for the advice. This shot is basically full frame (I took a sliver off right and top) and no room below. I fixed the catchlight in the eye and thanks for picking that up. I had missed it,

Randy- you are correct. This was not a setup. We were on a pontoon boat.
