Taken about a week ago. A little light on the eye would have been nice.
7D, 500mm at 1/2000, f/5.6, manual, ISO400, tripod, Cropped vertical from horizontal, some off the top and some added to bottom. I did lighten a bit of the eye.

Lovely shot maybe the head isn't at a n optimal angle to show the eye but I think that is a really fine image. Excellent details, if it were mine I would however consider lowering the highlights a little, I suspect more detail would become apparent.

excellent wing position and details, I just wish you had eye contact with the head turned towards the viewer, I know how tough this is and you did well. Those tail feathers are rough!

I like the crop, sharpness, and ratty tail feathers. But IMO you need at least a little eye contact, even when they are hunting.

I love the details in the feathers and the flight position. Lovely light too. Just wish for a tad more eye.

One of these "almost perfect" shot. Everything is awesome except the head. Agree with all of the above comments,

I don't mind the Head angle or the eye contact.
She had eye contact on something to eat probably.
The focus is great, the bird does look like it has been through a bit.

Wicked tail spread...I love it even with the rough feathers. I like the wings too, and the bit of faint tree in the BG. Like most others so far I too wish for a better HA. Still very nice though, and it is obvious this individual is on the hunt.

Great display of feathers and nice exposure and BG. I don't mind that the bird's head is focussed on hunting but would rather see the eye better.

Neato. Interesting to compare the worn, raggedy tail with the freshly molted flight feathers. Super sharp with wonderful light (except on the face that was unfortunately looking away....)

Nice pose and light. Very sharp image. Nice bg with just a hint of habitiat. Don't mind the HA as she was in hunt mode. Well done. TFS

Killer wing position and fanned tail, and the ragged tail feathers add interest. Overall tack sharp, with a pleasing BG. Another vote for wanting to see more eye contact.

Terrific shot....I dont mind the head angle here much(it would have much better with eye contact of course...but this also works for me)...light is gorgeous and I absolutely loved those trees in the BG.
